Billing Policy
Scone Medical Practice is a Private Billing medical practice. A Private Fee is applicable to both face-to-face and Telephone/Telehealth consults. All fees charged are at the discretion of the treating doctor.
Our aim is to provide patients with a clear and consistent billing policy so that patients are fully aware of the costs associated with all of our services.
All consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation by cash, credit card or EFTPOS. Accounts will not be given. We use Medicare Online to promptly process your Medicare Rebate. If you have registered your bank details with Medicare, your rebate can be claimed at the conclusion of your consultation. NOTE: It is your responsibility to lodge bank details with Medicare.
Patients without a Medicare card will be requested to pay the full amount for the consultation on the day of the visit.
From July 2020, The Commonwealth Government ended Medicare rebates and bulk billing for Telehealth GP Consults. Although you will be charged a private fee for your teleconsultation, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have had a face to face consult with your GP in the last 12months, and you have a current Medicare card. INITIAL DRESSING (With GP)
Initial dressings done during a GP consultation will be billed at a minimum private fee of $92.60, concessional rates and Medicare rebate available.
DRESSINGS (Without GP)
SMALL - No rebate, Flat private fee $16.50
LARGE - No rebate, Flat private fee $21.05

INR TESTING
- Private fee $46.10, concession rates and rebates available
- Aged care pensioners will be bulk-billed under their GP
- INR testing without GP consult will incur a $16.50 flat private fee, no rebates or concessions available
